As the name implies, the composite wall is a retaining wall composed of different types of profiles. Combine walls by interlocking clutches or by installing steel sheet piles between steel sheet piles. In composite walls, piles act as load-bearing structures, while sheet piles installed between the two make the wall continuous.

What is the difference between HZ combi-walls and OZ composite wall?
The HZ combi-walls system is composed of H-shaped steel sheet piles and Z-shaped steel sheet piles. It can provide extremely high cross-sectional performance in marine engineering, especially in projects that require ultra-long steel sheet piles such as port wharves and docks.
The H-shaped steel sheet pile includes welded H-shaped steel and a locking system.
HZ combi-walls can be divided into:
1. Double H-shaped steel sheet pile: H-shaped steel sheet pile and H-shaped steel sheet pile are connected for use.
2. The HZ combi-wall is used in combination with a pair of Z-shaped steel sheet piles.
3. Combination of double H-shaped steel sheet piles and Z-shaped steel sheet piles.
U-shaped or hat-shaped steel sheet piles can also be used to replace Z-shaped steel sheet piles in composite walls.
The other is the OZ combi-wall, which is a combination of large diameter steel pipe piles and sheet piles to form a retaining wall structure after installation. The pipe pile part of the composite wall is usually installed in the form of bored piles.
The OZ combi-wall system (also known as the tubular composite wall system) consists of pipes, cold-rolled or hot-rolled C9 connectors and Z intermediate sheet piles. The interlock is welded to the pipe to connect the pipe to the sheet pile.
OZ combi-wall composite pile is composed of pipe pile and Z type steel sheet pile. It can provide extremely high cross-sectional performance in marine engineering, especially in projects that require ultra-long steel sheet piles such as port wharves and docks.
When the pressure is transferred from the Z sheet pile to the pipeline, the pipe piles in the tubular OZ combi-walls system usually have a larger diameter to retain the components and bear the vertical load. Sheet piles are usually shorter than pipe piles because they are designed to retain soil and transfer loads. We can produce hot-rolled and cold-rolled connectors to meet different needs.
There are two main types of Combi walls, HZ combi-walls and OZ Combi walls. HZ combi-wall is a combination of H-shaped steel sheet pile and Z-shaped steel sheet pile. The combined sheet pile wall is usually formed by connecting a pair of sheet pile sections in a regularly spaced king pile pattern, and is usually used when the strength of the conventional sheet pile is insufficient to withstand the required load.
Depending on the application, the bored pile may or may not be back filled with concrete and steel. Install the sheet piles in the space between the pipes with a vibrating hammer and align them with the pipes by welding. Through interlocking points, the cross-section of other piles (such as H-piles) can also be combined with sheet piles to form a composite wall.
Different from OZ composite walls, one advantage of HZ combi-walls steel pipes is that they can be made of pipes with the same outer diameter but different lengths, so the resistance of the pile can adapt to the moment that changes with height. High quality, easy to operate, long service life, outstanding in the same respect, leaving a deep impression. However, due to the cost of butt welding, this solution is only economically feasible on fairly long steel pipes.
Next, take a look at the main differences of using HZ combi-walls steel sheet pile fence:
No need to excavate, minimizing waste disposal problems
If necessary, the HZ combi-walls steel sheet pile can be removed after use
Not affected by topography and deep groundwater
Irregular excavation can be used
Can be built on board, no need to arrange other locations
HZ combi-walls pipe piles are welded with locks at both ends and connected with steel sheet piles. We can provide customers with welded cold-formed locks to connect to our cold-formed steel sheet piles, or hot-rolled locks to connect to other suppliers' hot-rolled steel sheet piles.
